Chemical cleaning is defined as the removal of inorganic and organic foulants from process lines, equipment, surfaces and so on by chemicals. Cleaning is a
combination of three (3) elements: solvency; fluid velocity; and heat. Solvency depends on the chemistry of the cleaner and its concentration. Cleaners are
composed of acids, caustics or alkaline salts, chelates, organic solvents and surfactants. Fluid velocity or mechanical action comes from stirring, spraying,
agitation, circulation, air rumbling, steam addition and so on. Heat comes from steam, hot water or hot surfaces. Remember, cleaning is most effective when
all three (3) elements are available. If any one decreases, one or both of the other two must be increased to compensate.
From time to time, some of our PROPLANT customers have had special cleaning problems that were not handled satisfactorily by traditional cleaner companies.
In the interest of solving these problems and differtiating ourselves from other water treatment companies, PROPLANT has developed unique cleaning programs
for specialized applications.
